Wedding Planning Guide

Wedding Reception Planning with confidence: First things first! Here is what you watch while planning your wedding reception: Wedding Reception Planning #1: PLANNER? The wedding planner/coordinator will help choose and organize venue and vendors. May work closely with caterer. She is your assistant. She is there when you are not. She will solve the issues and smooth all the details. She will be doing what you would if you weren't enjoying your day! Wedding Reception Planning #2: IN or OUT? Decide if you want your reception to be held indoor or outdoors. There are things to take into account with both indoor and outdoor receptions. Weigh the pros and cons of each before you decide. Wedding Reception Planning #3: HOW MANY GUESTS? Plan how many people you are going to invite to your wedding reception. The number of people you plan to invite to the reception is often larger than the wedding itself. Make sure you have a good estimate before you choose the reception site. Wedding Reception Planning #4: TIMING? Start looking early! Reception sites get reserved quickly. If you have a dream reception site in mind, you may want to reserve the reception site immediately. Here is the SAVE BIG! Everybody lives next to beautiful places! Make sure you get a receipt or confirmation for the reception site so you have a guarantee of the reservation. Wedding Reception Planning #5: LOCATION? Pick a reception site close to the wedding service. You and your guests will not want to drive very far to the wedding reception after the wedding service. Find a reception site that is within a few miles from where the wedding service is being held. Wedding Reception Planning #6: THEME? The ambience of your room will set the mood. You will want to decorate accordingly. And choose the entertainment to the theme. Wedding themes can be as simple as a seasonal theme (reflecting autumn's colors or summer's beaches) or as complex as a Renaissance theme. There are no limits. Wedding Reception Planning #6: FOOD AND BEVERAGE? Breakfast, lunch or dinner? Will your food reflect a specific theme? Will you have a traditional meal with waiters or do you prefer food stations and/or buffets? Want an open bar or a few pre-selected beverage options? Don't forget the champagne for your toast and those soft drinks for your non-alcohol drinking, and younger, guests. Wedding Reception Planning #7: CAKE? Everybody wants to taste wedding cake! It is visited and viewed by many guests throughout the reception, and it will, no doubt, be the subject of many a conversations. Whether you want that multi-tiered, white, traditional cake or something completely original, the choices are there for the taking. Be as creative as you want and remember that the cake truly is the last taste of the wedding! |
